Internet
Access
Internet
access is available through the Librarys computer lab
to anyone with a Carson-Newman network account. Individuals
must log-on to the campus network using their C-N username and
password. Once logged on, the patron has complete access to
the network drives (J, K, and M) and the internet. Library patrons
are encouraged to save their work to their M-drive account,
where it will be available from any networked campus computer.
Students who have not completed final registration must do so
through the registrars office so that their campus networking
account can be activated. Limited use of the guest network log-in
may be available for students with unusual circumstances until
they are able to complete registration. Anyone signed-in as
a guest must save any material they wish to keep for later use
to a floppy disk or CD.
Library guests are those who are not Carson-Newman College students,
faculty and staff. Library guests are awarded (or allowed to
purchase) library cards according to the classifications detailed
in Patron Identification. Library guests will not
be allowed a library guest network login, unless they hold a
library card issued to them as a minister, VIP, or through the
University of Tennessee reciprocal borrowing agreement. However,
access will be provided to all patrons for electronic Federal
Government information provided through the Federal Depository
Library Program (FDLP).
