Main Desk
A variety of services and resources are available at the main desk. You will go to the main desk to check out and return books and periodicals. Items that are cataloged for the Reserve Room (call numbers beginning with the letters PR), as well as items that professors put on reserve, are located behind the main desk. Most reserve materials check out for one hour. (Click here to see loan periods and fine schedules.)

Inter-library loan is a service that allows us to obtain books, periodical articles, and other types of material for you from other libraries. The service is usually free (unless the lending library charges to lend the material). It usually takes 10 - 14 days to receive an item (much less time for periodical articles), so plan ahead. If you need to use the service, just ask at the main desk or fill out the online form available through the Online Catalog.
